Government of India releases cheques worth of Rs./Nu. 1085 million to Gross National Happiness Commission, RGoB

Ms. Esha Srivastava, Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy, handed over cheques amounting to Rs. /Nu. 1085 million to Mr. Wangchuk Namgay, Chief Program Coordinator, GNHC, RGoB on 12th June 2018 at India House, Thimphu.

This release of funds of worth Rs./Nu. 1085 million pertains to 2 PTA Projects, i.e. School Reform Programme & Conservation of Gasa Dzong, and final tranche for 3rd & 4th Batch of Small Development Projects.

Government of India has committed Rs./Nu. 50000 million in the 11th FYP to Royal Government of Bhutan. The detail break-up of the commitment are: Rs./Nu. 28000 million for Project Tied Assistance (PTA), Rs./Nu. 8500 million for Small Development Projects (SDP), Rs./Nu. 8500 million for Program Grant (PG) and Rs./Nu. 5000 million for Economic Stimulus Plan (ESP).

As on date, Government of India has released Rs./Nu. 24987 million for GoI PTA projects, Nu. 8500 million for SDP, Rs./Nu. 8500 million for Program Grant and Rs./Nu. 4400 million for ESP to RGoB. In total, GoI has released Nu. 46387 million to RGoB which is 93 % of total committed allocation in the 11th Five Year Plan Period.
